About Bill & Lynn

BilllynnLynn and I met in the summer of 1989 and were married a year later in June of 1990.  Originally from the Midwest,  we now live near Columbus, Georgia with our golden retriever, Neo.  Over the years we've lived in Illinois, Minnesota, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina.  This year we began the process of domestic adoption and hope to be adding a child to our family in the near future.

Lynn is a graduate of a Christian University and has spent many years working in both public and private school systems.  She enjoys quilting, jewelry making, reading, managing the tranquility of our home, and spending time with friends.

Fresh out of high school I began working in retail and within a short time entered into the management program.  After nearly ten years in retail management I found some sanity and transitioned into the newspaper industry where I worked until 2001.  At that time I began a self-supported full-time internship to prepare for church-planting.  We planted a church in 2002 and pastored until 2005, at which time I experienced a crisis of faith and returned to the newspaper industry.

Today I continue to work at the local newspaper as a marketing manager and editorial board member.  I am also in college finishing a degree in internet design and management.  WheNeocutoutsmall_2reas at one time my passion was to be a church leader, today I want to give my life to helping people discover a vision for their life and pursue it with passion while being mindful that the sole meaning of life is to serve humanity.  I  hope to do this through this website, a published book, speaking engagements, and meaningful relationships with those around me locally and around the world.

The name of this blog comes from a moment in time, while Lynn and I were dating, when she said to me, "You need to learn to look beyond what you see," as I lamented the smallness of my life and lack of vision for the future.
